Purpose: Promoting mutually respectful and cooperative work and conversation among local churches, agencies and organizations, schools, and businesses for the sake of offering hope to the community we share.
Description: Hope for Hanover is a voluntary leadership network that exists to promote conversation and cooperative initiatives between leaders and the organizations they serve. We believe that the entire Hanover community becomes better served and healthier as we share our ideas and our strengths with one another. The main networking opportunity is a monthly leader’s meeting currently hosted by The First Church of Hanover. Each meeting allows for time for each organization to promote an upcoming event or brainstorm with others about current needs or challenges. Beyond the monthly meeting is the hope that lasting relationships and new collaborations are forged as a natural flow of our regular coming together.
Vision: That no hurt of the people of our community goes unhealed and the culture of Hanover is not dominated by a spirit of fear and self-service but rather of mutual care and generosity.
Leader Invitation: We invite all community leaders to our monthly conversation and networking event on the third Monday of each month from 1-3pm (stay as long as you can) at the Land of the Living Church, 200 Middle St., Hanover PA.
Special Church Invitation: For all churches that already have an outreach or program that is serving the community, or for a church that would like to assess or learn from others how their church might be most effective in community development, the monthly meeting would be a good place to establish a base for support.
